This page is part of the Marketing Helix development history. It is preserved as an exploration or earlier version, not as the current canonical model.

Teaching the model against the funnel Deprecated

What it was. Until October 10, 2026: “remove all funnel language,” a start-here card titled “Why Funnels Fail,” the funnel described as legacy, and films titled “Forget the Funnel” and “Your Funnel Is Broken.”

What it contributed. The observation underneath it still stands: a stage does not tell you what is changing for the person in it.

What replaced it. Principle 01: keep the funnel to measure progression, use the Helix to investigate what influences it.

The customer traveling the helix Deprecated

What it was. Drawings and sentences in which the customer orbits, spirals, or follows a helix path.

What it contributed. Nothing to keep. It is the model backwards, and it is recorded so it is not drawn again.

What replaced it. The customer is the straight line. The marketing message is what moves around it. See Customers in Motion.

The customer moving up Superseded

What it was. The films’ direction, and the direction of every figure from October 1 to October 10, 2026.

What it contributed. The customer as a straight line through the middle, which is unchanged.

What replaced it. Left to right. See the upright set.

Three strands in the opening figure Superseded

What it was. Trust, relevance, and timing drawn as three colored lines around the customer in the first picture a reader sees.

What it contributed. The three conditions themselves, which are unchanged.

What replaced it. One marketing message in Figure 1; the three conditions in their own figures.

The three forces as gates with thresholds Deprecated

What it was. Earlier principle 06 said all three “must exceed their respective thresholds at the same moment,” and earlier principle 03 called trust “the first gate.”

What it contributed. A useful diagnostic question: which of the three has changed?

What replaced it. Trust, relevance, and timing are interacting conditions, not validated numerical thresholds or a strict sequence. See principle 09.

The thirteen principles Superseded

What it was. The principles as published until October 10, 2026.

What it contributed. Twelve of the thirteen carry into the fifteen, retitled or rewritten; the thirteenth, “the model is descriptive, not prescriptive,” was absorbed into principle 01.

What replaced it. The fifteen principles. Every earlier anchor on that page still resolves to its successor.

“Post-Sale Helix” Deprecated

What it was. The earlier name for the model after the purchase.

What replaced it. Post-Purchase Helix. The earlier name may appear in older material as a synonym.

The gravity well and push versus pull, as current figures Superseded

What they were. Two figures that stood on current teaching pages until October 10, 2026.

What replaced them. One left to right figure, Pulled Closer, or Drifting Past, on The Model. Both earlier drawings are in early explorations.
