Marketing Helix Model History
The Marketing Helix did not arrive finished. It went through earlier names, earlier pictures, and corrections. They are kept here, dated and labeled, so the record is complete and nothing is mistaken for the current model.
This page is part of the Marketing Helix development history. It is preserved as an exploration or earlier version, not as the current canonical model.
Why this record exists
A model that explains customer behavior should be able to show how it was reasoned out. Earlier versions are preserved for transparency and as the intellectual record. They are not the current teaching version, and every one is labeled so that it cannot be read as one.
What the labels mean
- Exploration An idea that was tried and drawn, and not carried into the model as taught.
- Superseded An earlier version of something that still exists. A newer version replaced it.
- Deprecated A way of saying or drawing the model that is no longer used, with the reason.
- Archived Kept as it was, for the record.
The four parts
The line of development, in one paragraph
The reasoning began with the marketing funnel and a correction to it, the Gravity Funnel, which replaced push with pull. Fly By Gravity then named the source of that pull: trust, pictured as mass. The Marketing Helix added what a flat field could not hold, the customer moving through time. On October 10, 2026 the model was corrected again: the funnel is kept as the picture of the company’s process, the Helix describes what happens inside it, and every explanatory figure was redrawn to run left to right. The three lineage essays tell the first part of this at length, in the words of the time.
